Raúl Yáñez, Keyboards

Raúl Yáñez' musical talents span jazz, Latin, hip hop, and classical. He performs as a pianist/organist, and teaches jazz at Mesa Community College, Scottsdale Community College and ASU. He has worked with jazz artists Joey Defrancesco and Jimmy Smith. Raúl is the leader of a 10-piece Latin jazz ensemble that features many of his original compositions. In existence since 1998, the C.P.R. Orchestra has been a constant recipient of rave reviews in the local press and was named Best Latin Band in Phoenix by The Rep. Raúl has composed numerous pieces presented during international appearances in Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta, Japan, Latvia, Thailand, Mexico, and the US. Raúl wrote the first ever Concerto for Turntable which was premiered in Carnegie Hall. He was also awarded the Best Latin Jazz Ensemble In Arizona by the Latin Perspective in 2007. Raúl can also be seen as the music director for Grammy award artist Sister Sledge and performing live with the flamenco guitarist Esteban.
